After successfully co-owning San Diego’s Best Salon of 2020, we decided we weren’t done shaking up the beauty industry.
If you’re like us, then skin and hair treatments that push your body out of balance absolutely make your brain melt – and not in the cute puppy kind of way.
Call it intuition or endless research…but after two years of forging our individual business paths, we knew we had to fill the gap that other beauty professionals were leaving empty. We simply *had* to design treatments that didn’t just sound nice but truly assisted the body’s natural flow.
So in 2023, we once again joined forces as business partners to create a safe, luxurious space where San Diegans not only get to the root of their scalp concerns but also experience skincare at its best.
As an award winning esthetician-trichologist duo, we’re thrilled to help you mute life’s noise, drop your shoulders, breathe out the BS, and breathe in the essence of self-care.

Although we share plenty of laughs, we didn’t create Rind Head Spa just for the fun of it.
We both know sharing is caring, especially when it comes to designing proven treatments that leave people feeling yummy. A while back, we decided we didn’t want to achieve this mission with just anyone.
Our 6 year friendship and deep level of trust is the (not-so-secret) recipe for building our beautiful team and attracting lovely guests like you.

Leeanne Heathcote
IN-HOUSE TRICHOLOGIST
Originally hailing from “sunny old” England, I’ve now embraced the sunnier vibes of San Diego. Sure, my journey into the world of scalp care began in 2018, but my journey into the beauty industry ignited at the age of 12, inspired by the audacious hair colors of Ginger Spice.
Since then, I’ve blossomed into a certified trichologist – basically a hair and scalp detective. Because scalp care holds equal importance as the final salon look, I focus on finding the root causes of hair loss, dandruff, and other scalp conditions.
From Spice Girl to Luxury Hairstylist to Trichologist, I’ve spent 20 years perfecting my craft. I not only use my specialized knowledge to support guests but to educate hair stylists through Salty Scalp Academy.
When Kim approached me with the idea of tailoring a new line of spa treatments, it was an immediate “hell yes” from my end!
Since that moment in 2023, we were determined to find the perfect spot in central San Diego. Given our years of dedication to highly personalized treatments, our space was never going to be your run-of-the-mill salon. We transformed a cozy spot in Bankers Hill into San Diego’s inaugural haven for high-touch facials, beautifully intertwined with scalp-renewing rituals.
We believe that one of the greatest gifts we can offer Rind Head Spa guests is transformative self-care. Self-care, to us, means experiencing a profound sense of fulfillment. And I must say, our scalp rituals are designed to leave you feeling utterly fulfilled!

Kim Tran
ESTHETICIAN
As an energetically-aware, high-touch esthetician, I live at the intersection of old-world care and modern edge technology. I’ve centered my practice around personalization, rejuvenating massage techniques, and a hands-on approach to skincare treatments. Through Rind Skin Academy, I teach budding estheticians to do the same.
Notably, I hold certification as an acne specialist, offering targeted expertise in this area. Whether you show up for complex skin solutions or simple moments of rest, you will quickly understand my unyielding passion for enhancing every guest’s journey.
In the summer of 2023, I was honored to see Rind Skin recognized as San Diego’s Best in the nonmedical beauty category. Since then, we’ve evolved into Rind Skin & Head Spa, where we continue to elevate the art of self-care to new heights.
Why change Rind Skin if things were going so well? Because I’m passionate about creating a soothing spa experience that caters to your individual skin and scalp needs.
